This weekend an old friend was in town and he suggested we check out Logan’s Roadhouse for dinner. all though I’ve been there in the past, it sounded like a good idea. Greeted at the door with a smile then taken back to the dining area that’s located in the eastern most side of the building.

You walk(wheel) up a ramp into what looks like an addition to the restaurant. This is a great part of the restaurant to eat in. We were seated by a window, which is always a plus.

My friend ordered the Logan’s Famous Baby Back Ribs which looked thick and juicy, described as very tasty, and I went with the  Kickin’ Logan’s Chickin’ Salad that had a bit of a tasty twang to it. I would definitely try it again. Our wait time was perfect. We were still munching on the last of our appetizer as the food arrived.

Along with some great tasting rolls and  mozzarella sticks for appetizers, this was a good night. Logan’s Roadhouse has always had excellent tasting food while sometimes a hit and miss with their customer service. This night was an enjoyable visit, the staff was great and the overall price of our meals were very reasonable.

Check out the Chico Logan’s!!

Restaurants Chico finally Hits a little bump in the road. Although I have heard good reviews about Spiteri’s delicatessen over the years, I’ve never stopped in.

A friend and I arrived around 1pm. When you first step through the door you notice the wide open floor plan, which was really pretty cool. Greeted by a friendly girl behind the counter, I ordered a roast beef/American cheese with everything on it, and my friend ordered a turkey/cheddar cheese with the works as well.

Our sandwiches were ready pretty fast and the prices were right on track. The over all review for both of our sandwiches after eating them was good. Our bread was a little tough and chewy but the sandwich fixings over-road that problem.

I know this place is a Chico favorite but i will point out how unprofessional the staff carries on. When we showed there was at least 5 or 6 people in the kitchen area behind the counter.

They were very loud and carrying on about something that happened the night before. I understand there’s a young staff working there but what about respecting the customer?

The Lady who was sitting beside us with her son was waiting at the counter to pay for her food and no one was paying attention to her, she finally sat back down. Then soon after an employee came up to her and asked her if she was ready to pay. The lady replied with “I was standing up there waiting and everyone was ignoring me!”.

With five or six guys and girls giggling and carrying on behind the counter, with only a few customers in the building, this place semed like a zoo, complete with dirty floors and windows. I just happen to have my camera with me today.

So, maybe this was just an off day, but, its my job to report my experience in a truthful way and this day just wasn’t Spiteri’s  day.

But, I do recommend their sandwiches.

The local Chili’s franchise is a cool place to hang out and have a bite to eat. Between the friendly staff and great customer service, along with the enchilada soup, its always a good time and a great meal when visiting chili’s.

Located in the Chico mall complex, a couple friends and i just stopped in recently. you can either eat your food on the bar side, which has a number TV’s for watching sports events, etc etc, or the dining area. We decided to eat in the dining area.

With multiple tables and booths, and a wide open floor plan, the atmosphere at this place is quite comfortable. We started our meal with a couple huge baskets of chips that were light and crispy, as they seemed to be fresh out of the oven, along with some salsa and guacamole dip.

One of my favorite things about going to chili’s is their enchilada soup. It sounded kind of odd the first time I heard about it, but after hearing one good review after another, I tried it and i have been hooked ever since.

With a wide selection on the menu, on this visit I went with the enchilada soup along with a chicken Caesar salad, but had them replace the chicken with some juicy strips of tri tip. Scrumptious is how I described this meal.

If you like to throw down a beer or two with dinner; they offer a pretty tasty selection; Served in a frosted mug or a tall Pilsner glass.

Everyone’s dinner was a great success. The wait time here is always worth it, and is usually pretty reasonable. Prices are fair considering the amount of food you get, and usually a to-go carton is in order.

So, if you haven’t tried the local chili’s, you might want to put it on your list of restaurants to visit in Chico.

Recently a client and I stopped into Ojiya Japanese Steakhouse
& Sushi Bar for a late lunch. You have a few different options as
far as what type of dinning experience your looking for.

Greeted by the hostess and our waiter, we were asked if we wanted
the sushi bar, casual dining, or the Hibachi. While neither one of us
had been here before they gave us two menus to look at and decide; an
Hibachi and a casual dining menu.

At first we were just going to order off the casual dining menu, but after
a brief look over the Hibachi menu, we decided to go with the Traditional
Hibachi Table Dinner Combination, Served with soup, salad, hibachi vegetables,
shrimp starter and choice of steamed or fried rice.

If your not familiar of the Hibachi Style dining, its when the chef wheels
out a cart full of your food, then proceeds to fry it up on a large grill right in
front of you.

restaurantschico007 Ojiya

With 5 Hibachi chefs available to prepare your meal, our guy was
quite friendly and delivered great customer service. A character for sure.

After debating whether i wanted the steak or chicken Hibachi dinner, i went with the
chicken while my friend ordered the shrimp. For the salads, it came with a
Caesar, which was covered in a very good tasting Caesar dressing, that along with
the fried rice which was rightfully recommended by the chef. Great fried rice!

Our wait time was reasonably short and our server checked on us often.
The open floor plan, along with a great color scheme, makes the atmosphere
of this restaurant very pleasing.

restaurantschico009 Ojiya

Both meals came with 3 or 4 pieces of shrimp for the appetizer.
With a flick of the wrist, i noticed a piece of shrimp come flying at my plate.
This was just too cool of a dining experience.

The chicken was really tender, juicy and plenty of it, and same goes for the shrimp.
As with any Benihana style restaurant, you’re going to pay. While the meals were not the cheapest, the food was excellent, and the service was grand.

So, if you’re looking for some great tasting food along with a memorable dining experience, I highly suggest trying the Hibachi at Ojiya Japanese Steakhouse in Chico.

Some saying the best Mexican food in town. After hearing a number of good reviews about this place; it was time to check out La Cocina Economica for lunch.

Located on the corner of E. 9th & Wall Street, the last time i was at this restaurant location it was a delicatessen.

When a friend and i arrived around 11:45pm the restaurant was already full of people. Noticing one small table in the corner available, luckily we were able to grab it.

You order from a walk up counter and when your food is ready they call your name. Greeted with a friendly smile and hello, I ordered 4 tri-tip tacos at a great price of $1/taco. My friend ordered the veggie Burrito.

laconcinaeconomica384 La Cocina Economica

While we waited the customers kept rolling in. Our wait time was only about 10 minutes. The dining room has multiple windows which keeps you from feeling closed in.

I’ve heard from others that the shrimp tacos are great here but i was really impressed with the tri tip tacos for a buck a piece. My friend had been here before and said his burrito was good as usual.

So, if your looking for really good cheap Mexican food you might want to try a Cocina Economica lunch or dinner, Restaurants Chico highly recommend this business.
